Singles Ski Holidays in St Christoph, Austria
Austria is the original alpine ski destination, renowned for great skiing and genuine charm. The Austrian word ‘gemütlichkeit’ is hard to translate but is all about hospitality, friendship, good food and fun times: just what you want from your week on the slopes!
CHALET HOTEL ST CHRISTOPH
Our hotel, the St Christoph, enjoys the most fantastic ski-in, ski-out location, with the Maiensee T-bar lift right outside and the St Christophbahn covered quad chairlift just 2 minutes’ walk away to whisk you up into the St Anton side of the ski area. You may also tap into the bus service (it stops 50m from the hotel) to Lech and Zürs to ski the ‘white ring’ circuit.
There’s cross-country skiing and winter walking opportunities if you feel like an afternoon off the higher slopes, and traditionally welcoming après ski with plenty of that ‘gemütlichkeit’ to enjoy!
The St Christoph is a handsome modern hotel with 73 rooms and good facilities, including two open-plan lounges – one with a roaring log fire – and a residents-only sports bar. There’s an indoor pool as well as sauna, and an attractive dining room. There’s even a ski and boot hire shop in the basement. Top floors are served by a lift. Of course, single skiers share the hotel with other guests, but the Hosts take good care of our guests and the St Christoph has a separate kids’ play room.
The bright (shower ensuite) bedrooms have fluffy Austrian duvets, a TV and hairdryer. Some rooms have a balcony (at a supplement).
St Christoph Ski Resort
The jewel in Austria’s snowy crown is surely the Arlberg ski region, which has a world-class reputation for miles of attractive skiiing on tree-lined pistes as well as high-altitude snow-sure open bowls. There’s 340kms of skiing across the Arlberg, with 145 blue, 140 red and 55 black runs, as well as five-star snowboard opportunities. With a good network of cable cars, chair and drag lifts, plus ski busses, there’s huge scope for all levels of experience.
St Christoph is set at 1800m for high-altitude skiing and a good snow record. It’s a traditional Austrian village 500m above its bigger neighbour St Anton.
