European ski destinations in peak condition for half-term

skiing in Europe

So far this week, conditions in European ski resorts have been at their peak, providing many holidaymakers with a fantastic holiday this half-term.

Sunny skies have been widespread in the Alps, creating ideal overhead conditions, with temperatures climbing above zero Celsius. France has remained wintery, with the best current conditions found in Tignes and Val d’Isere, which are both offering great snow. From today, snow clouds are expected to begin dropping fresh snow, especially in the south of the country.

The Swiss Alps in particular are reaping the benefits of the sunshine, with the snowpack beginning to consolidate, meaning less risk of an avalanche. Snow is also expected this weekend in a number of Swiss resorts, including Verbier.

Powdery conditions are still being reported on Austrian pistes, with those in Obergurgl particularly excellent, which is great news for those on ski holidays for singles this February half term.
